Whad’ya wanna know?

I’ve got bloggers block again. I just don’t know what you want to read about so allow me to throw a few things out there:

Do you want to know about how I went to my friend Meredith’s house on Wednesday morning and just hung out? Really, I did nothing but sit on her comfy leather couch and talk with her. For three hours. She worked on a counted cross-stitch, but I just sat like a bump on a log. She is seriously one of the easiest people to talk to and I love that about her. It was a great morning!

Or maybe you want to know about how my friend Vanessa and I are going to see Twilight at 10:45am on Friday morning. Seriously. We are going to the movies at 10:45 AM on a Friday morning. Who does that? Well apparently I do. We both really want to see the movie, but neither of us are such die hards that we want to venture out at midnight the night before and we don’t want to mess with the pubescent crowd on Friday night, so we are going to the 10:45 AM showing. It’ll be fun to see what other mothers sneak off to the movies while their kids are in school!

I know, you really want to know about how frustrated I am with my wardrobe, right? I’m basically a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl. Most days that is what you will find me in. Jeans, long sleeve t-shirt, and my black Dansko clogs. It’s my uniform. I love my uniform, especially when I add my black Columbia Sportswear jacket or my red Eddie Bauer puffy vest. It’s what I feel most comfortable in. It’s me. However, I wish I was a little more daring. I want to walk into a store and pick up something not in my uniform and wear it. Maybe I should start with these:

or these:

I’m sure you are all dying to know about how I called my mom last night and dumped a huge guilt trip on her about how she never comes to visit me, right? Well I did. It wasn’t pretty and it wasn’t fair of me either. I called her back tonight and apologized. The great thing about my mom is that she forgives me. She forgave me before I even called to apologize. I love that about her.

Speaking of my mom, I know that you all want to read about my moms trip to Africa. Well, she hasn’t shared much of the details yet. I think she is still processing a lot of it, but I also know that she is easing us into the tough stuff. At any rate she has two posts about her trip so far, go read them here and here.

Oh, oh, I know. How about I teach you all the most popular game at our house these days. I know you are all dying to know how to play

“Happy it’s not your birthday”

So it goes like this. The game can ONLY be played immediately following dinner and ONLY on nights when daddy is home (yep, I made up those rules). So we go around the table and one person at a time closes their eyes while the other three very quickly run through the house and grab random objects to give to the other person for their NOT birthday. Once everyone has gathered back at the table the gift receiver opens their eyes while we sing “happy it’s not your birthday to you” and is then presented with their gifts and a tall tale of why that gift is suitable for their NOT birthday. The recipient then gushes over the thoughtfulness of the gifts and we laugh at the silliness of it all. We then proceed to let everyone in the family take a turn at being the recipient of the completely random household objects. It is hilarious! Cooper made up this game a few months ago and wants to play it every night, that is why I added my two rules to the game.

Well, that’s all I got. For now. I better save some of my randomocity for another time, especially since I just don’t feel my blogging mo-jo coming back.

Why don’t you all help a girl out here and ask me some questions.

What do ya want to know?

Any question.

C’mon, you know there’s something you really want to know about me.
About my sister?
My feelings on Obama?
Or the Shack?
About the ozone layer?

Just ask, I’ll answer.

okay…that game sounds awesome – i want to play it. i think sitting on mere’s couch sounds heavenly – i want to do that too!the shoes look cool – but your uniform is you and it is good!since you mentioned it…i do want to know your views on the shack! let’s hear it – then maybe i will be brave enough to share mine!

  2. meleea

also…thanks for the comment on emma’s blog. she will love that – she thinks no one even reads it!

  3. Kat

Katie and I are going to see Twilight tomorrow morning at 10 am! And, the best part is that the tickets are only $6! I can count Twilight as school work, right? And I wear a uniform as well. When I find clothes – and shoes – that I like, I buy them in every color. So, I really do wear the same thing every day. Just with a variety of colors. For questions – What book are you reading right now? What book have you read that you really wish they would make into a movie (that would be good – and not a horrible Hollywood version of your fav)?

I LOVE that game!!! We might have to try that one!!!Questions…What television show from your childhood do you have the fondest memories about? What’s your favorite breakfast food? What would your dream job be? What’s a job you would NEVER want to do?Someone is giving you a $100 gift certificate for Christmas. What store would you want it to be from?

  5. Kris

I feel really bad about the uniform thing! You always find great things for me! Is it ok if I don’t like the shoes? Move closer. we’ll go shopping!

  6. Kris

Tell me about Socialism and the effect it will have on our country.

Your game sounds crazy fun! :)I am interested in your view on “The Shack.” Is it a “must read” as I’ve heard from others, or should i not waste my time. How about your view on the ever-so-early Christmas season this year?My daughter can’t decide if she wants to see Twilight… she’s 13 and loved the first two books, but can’t stand the kissing in the commercials… let us know your view on the movie and is it “too sensual” for kids?

I am so not witty when it comes to these questions. But I do want to know how you met Lee Ann. And Lee Ann has probably told me, but I’ve forgotten if she did.

  9. Gina

So, my uniform is: Jeans, tank top, sweat shirt, socks and shoes for winter; denim capris, tank top, and sandals for the other 3 seasons. I wish I were more glam, too- but I think it would be rather like putting lipstick on a pig….

  10. Gina

Tell me about how we met….

  11. Gramma 2 Many

Thanks, Trish. My favorite are the first pair. The darker ones.I think I know most of what I want to know about you, so I won’t ask. I will just wait and see how you answer the other questions. Maybe I will learn something new that way. But, never the less, kinks and all, I love you with an unending love. It will never change. Never.

  12. Gramma 2 Many

Didn’t mean you are kinky, just that relationships sometimes get kinks in them. Fortunately, every kink can be straightened out without ever leaving a trace of its having been there.

I love that your post about not knowing what to write about and having blogger’s block is so entertaining! may you always be this ‘blocked’! :)I braved the crowds last night and saw Twilight–which you are now getting to enjoy–or I hope you are enjoying it–the very best part of the movie for me was the crowd reaction last night/early morning…so animated and excited for every scene. but not a really great movie–just good for us ‘superfans’ to go and enjoy some silly, familiar events unfold on the big screen.

  14. Julie

oh, can we all get a spot on mere’s couch?! 😉 I like the leopard shoes better than the snakeskin. I think they say ‘comfort with style’!

  15. Lula!

Actually, I DO want to know what you thought about The Shack. Seriously. And the movie…’cause girl, not loving the movie. I love Edward, but the movie. Eh…kind of a letdown. Sigh…

  16. *Chelsea Lynn*

Well i think if you and auntie Gina and aunt Kris just let me do all of your shopping for you YOU LADIES WOULD BE HAWT MAMMAZ!!!!!!and i wanna play happy its NOT your birthday@@@ maybe ill make my nephew’s that live with me play haha.. i think they are a little old… but then again…if i like it….hahah

  17. Lee Ann

I want to know why you’re not answering these questions! :-)And I am so in need of flashy new Dansko’s! I’ve been wearing my same black ones to work for FIVE years! Steve is always quick to remind me that it’s only one day a week though. I think I’m gonna go with bight red to go with my blue scrubs so I’ll be really patriotic! And after I wear them on gross hospital floors I don’t wear them anywhere else anyway. I definitely think you should go with the leopard!
